The Boombox Saints - The Breakup Song ft. Jill Laxamana
Monday, February 20 Vancouver-based hip hop trio The Boombox Saints have released a new video for their fourth single "The Breakup Song" off of Bringin' the Boom Back: Based on a True Story. It's a nice little R&B ballad featuring newcomer Jill Laxamana, and ironically they chose to release it on Valentine's Day despite the sad subject matter.
It's a great way to showcase the group's range, and Laxamana especially has a chance to showcase her amazing vocals. I'm a big fan of the band because of their ability to stay true to their church roots but their songs are still legit hip-hop without being full of masochistic or violent lyrics.
